On Saturday, April 28 at Solano Middle School in Vallejo, over 160 volunteers participated in a Spring 2018 Workday.
Rebuilding Together, Wells Fargo Bank, Recology Vallejo, and Home Depot all played a major role in partnering with the Vallejo City Unified School District.
Rebuilding Together provides health and safety repairs for low-income seniors, veterans and disabled homeowners as well as community facilities in Solano County. This is accomplished with volunteer labor, donated materials and in-kind services due to the partnership of local companies, concerned residents and service organizations. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for low-income homeowners and community facilities in Solano County.
At this event, Rebuilding Together organized the efforts that resulted in the design and painting of a mural in the court yard, new landscaping, repainting the staff-room, cleaning the library, washing windows, and sanitizing the entire gym.
“They adopted Solano Middle School and did a beautification project. It was absolutely beautiful to see members of the community, different communities, we had community members from outside Vallejo coming and working to help beautify that school,” said Clark. “They were so excited about the work they were doing and excited to see the children’s faces when they returned to school on Monday. That was a great event and a true sense of community.”
