In a Solano County contest that promotes Kindness, Loma Vista students were named finalist. The video was shown at a red carpet event on May 8 at the Solano County Event Center in Fairfield in an effort to prevent hatred and bullying.
Loma Vista Environmental Science Academy students included: Destiny Ferrara, Shane Grace, Meeya Miller, Malachi Rodriguez, Elizabeth Alvira, Alincia Austin, Aaliyah Jackson, Maximo Mendieta,
Destiny Ferrara, a 9th grader, is a past Loma student who comes back to the program a few days a week to teach the Film Club, was the director. The actors in the film were the students.
The contest rules included:
- Videos must be at least 30 second and no longer than two minutes long
- Open to all Solano County students grades 7 -12
- Video contest must focus on how kindness can make a positive difference against bullying
The contest was sponsored by Solano County Supervisor John M. Vasquez and District Attorney Krishna Abrams
