The student gardeners in Federal Terrace’s Garden Club have been working to learn the nuts and bolts of growing their own vegetables and maintaining a healthy and productive garden.

Led by 4th grade Teacher Marie Muscolino–Henton, she says except for sweet peas, all of the plants were started as seeds by the students.

The project started by planting seeds just after returning from winter break and now some of those seeds are being harvested–fava beans and radishes.  Others, will be transplanted for summer or early fall harvests which include tomatoes, sunflowers, zinnias, carrots, etc.
